Bootcamp
We have "revamped" our Bootcamp! It is the same concept, but different. We have decided that Bootcamp is to balance the dog that is too excitable or nervous. Our goal in this week long training is to bring the dogs to a calm state of mind and teach the owner how to do the same. We will work on the dogs energy or nervousness level in the pack, we will train them in public settings, they will be worked in the pack for distractions and as always taught basic obedience.
Bootcamp Evaluation:
Before we sign your pup up for Bootcamp, we want to meet you and your dog for an evaluation. We can do this in a few way....
Evaluation at Dog World- no charge
Evaluation at your home (in Columbus)- $50
Evaluation at your home (out of town)- $75
Once we have evaluated your dog, we can determine if they need Bootcamp or one of the other training options we offer.

- Leash walking
- Not jumping on humans

- Sit/Stay

- Meeting people in public calmly
- General excitement or nervousness

What do YOU, the owner, have to do.....
This training is very owner focused. We focus on the dogs, however we need your participation as well. The drop off date is a Saturday morning (at 10am) and you must plan to participate in an hour long training exercise with a trainer when you drop your dog off. We want to work with you before and after the Bootcamp to guide you and answer any questions you may have. The second training exercise occurs when you pick up your dog. This will be a 5:30pm-6:30pm class. This class is for you to work with the trainers who have been working with your dogs, answer any additional questions, and for us to be able to see you "in action' with your dog.
ALL DOGS THAT PARTICIPATE IN BOOTCAMP MUST ABIDE BY THE REQUIREMENTS FOR DAYCARE/BOARDING: 6 MONTHS OR OLDER, SPAYED OR NEUTERED, PROOF OF RABIES, DISTEMPER, CANINE FLU, BORDATELLA (IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS AND THE RESULTS OF THE OVA AND PARASITE PLUS GIARDIA ELISA 24 HOUR LAB TEST ON A STOOL SAMPLE (IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS).
Private Session
This session is tailored to your specific problems with your dog and focuses on how to modify unwanted behavior. This can be done at Dog World or at your home. Humans are taught "how" to train their dog. The session is meant to only be a beginning of a learning relationship that develops high levels of trust.

1 hour private session at Dog World: $70
1 hour private session in Columbus at your home: $100
1 hour private session outside of Columbus, IN: Price varies due to distance. Please ask the person scheduling the appointment about pricing.

Dog World's Canine Good Citizenship Class
AKC Certification and Therapy test preparation: $110
For dogs completing obedience classes and wanting further advancement (required by certifiers). Basic commands are practiced: sit, stay, down, come, stay with owner, walking away, stay to walk away and come command from a distance. Socialization with humans and other animals is practiced and tested. This class is taught by AKC Certified instructors and the AKC test is included in the class price. This class is also a pre-requisite for the Therapy Dog Certification Program. While we do not certify therapy dogs, we can point you in the direction of someone who does. The class meets once a week for 4 weeks.
The next 4-week obedience course will begin again starting Thursday April 29th from 5:30pm-6:30pm or Saturday May 1st from 10am-11am. Call us to secure your spot!
Board and Train
The Board and Train is a wonderful addition to your dog's boarding stay! This is for a dog that is boarding 5 days or more.
Please pick 2 issues you would like us to address during your dogs board and train....
- Socialization
- Leash walking
- Issues with jumping
- Recall
Remember....
- Dogs do not go into public during a board and train (that is Bootcamp)
- When you pick up be prepared for a 30 minute training session with the trainer.
- This is for dogs who are boarding for 5 days or more.
- Training days are NOT weekend days.
