The Puppy Academy's Advanced Socialization Training Program highlights owners ability to work with their dog at a higher skills level. This program is for dogs who have completed Puppy School, Levels 1-3, or been through the Modification Program. You and your dog will work together to form a working bond to ignore outside world distractions and strengthen obedience skills. Highly qualified trainers expose your dog to various new places, sounds, and people. Your dog must be in a current Puppy Academy program to apply. You will learn how to handle your dog in a reactionary and overstimulating situation and regain their focus. This program is ideal for owners wanting to take their dog to public places or if they have a reactionary dog on walks.
You will be learning basic commands such as: sit, stay, down, come, stay, wait while you walk away, and come command from a distance. Controlled greeting with humans and other animals is practiced and tested. This class is taught by AKC Certified instructors. This class consists of 4 class sessions.
The Canine Good Citizen test is a great way to earn your first AKC title. This clinic is for dogs who have completed The Puppy Academy Program, Modification Program, or Dog Fundamentals. You will be tested on basic commands such as: sit, stay, down, come, stay, wait while you walk away, and come command from a distance. Controlled greeting with humans and other animals will be tested. This class is taught by AKC Certified instructors and the AKC test is included in the class price. This is a one day event that will test your dog for the CGC. This price does not include prep classes.
Is your dog leading you? This class focuses on your ability to show leadership and get your dog to follow you. Leash walking is all about behavior. If you are the leader your dog will follow.
Hiking with your dog is all about direction and trust. Join us to learn how to form a working bond through hiking and scent work that is not only rewarding but fun. This clinic is for dogs who have completed The Puppy Academy Program, Modification Program, or Dog Fundamentals.
Have you ever been interested in teaching your dog a new trick, but just don’t know how. We want to give you the tools to not only teach your dog party trick, but grow your ability to work together. Agility and tricks are a great way to burn mental energy and create a working bond. This clinic is for dogs who have completed The Puppy Academy Program, Modification Program, or Dog Fundamentals.
Ever wonder how your dog acts in a pack of dogs? Do you have more than one dog at home and they just won't stop playing? This class is for you. Learn how to pick up on behavior cues in a pack and stop unwanted behavior. This clinic is for dogs who have completed The Puppy Academy Program, Modification Program, or Dog Fundamentals.
Chasing, barking, lunging, and nipping at horses are all behaviors that can get your horse and dog (possibly a rider) hurt or worse. The energy of the dog when exhibiting these behaviors is high and excited- causing the horse to respond.
What happens when the dog is given direction to use a calm behavior as a default? How do you think the horse will respond? Dog World trainers can change a canine's behavior, and we have a horse trainer on staff that can help in both worlds. We have created a program that will establish a new association of cal behavior when around horses and livestock, and give you the tools to maintain this.
Following the Love on a Leash Guidelines, this class dives into the skills you need to complete your initial Therapy Dog test. We will show you what it takes to maneuver tight spaces and stay calm in high stress situations. This clinic is for dogs who have completed The Puppy Academy Program, Modification Program, or Dog Fundamentals and have earned their CGC Title. You must be 18 years of age and your dog must be over a year old to participate. This program consists of 3 class dates which include the Love on a Leash Control Evaluation.
Does your dog steal food? Let us teach you how to set limits with your dog around the table. This class will end with a meal on the patio of one of Columbus local restaurants. This clinic is for dogs who have completed The Puppy Academy Program, Modification Program, or Dog Fundamentals.
